BONFANTI Supports IRPLAST’s New High-Performance BOPP Film Line in Italy

For BONFANTI, this project represents an important continuation of its relationship with IRPLAST, following previous collaborations developed many years ago.
The renewed partnership has brought together the experience of IRPLAST in high-performance film production and BONFANTI’s long-standing expertise in automated material handling, downstream logistics, and storage systems for the plastic film industry.

Within the new installation, BONFANTI has developed and supplied an automated handling solution designed to efficiently manage the material flows associated with the production process, integrating handling and storage functions within the overall plant logistics.

The system has been conceived to combine operational efficiency, reliability, and flexibility, supporting the requirements of a modern film manufacturing environment while allowing the logistics infrastructure to evolve together with future production needs.

The plastic film industry requires increasingly sophisticated logistics solutions capable of managing high production volumes while maintaining product quality, traceability, safety, and operational continuity.

BONFANTI has developed a specific technological expertise in this field over several decades, designing automated downstream systems for some of the world’s leading film manufacturers.

Its solutions can integrate the different stages of material handling, from the management of finished rolls through transportation, weighing, identification, storage, and subsequent retrieval, creating coordinated and highly automated material flows. This approach allows production and logistics to operate as an integrated system, reducing manual handling and supporting manufacturers in achieving greater efficiency and reliability across the plant.

The IRPLAST project represents another application of this consolidated know-how, adapted to the specific requirements of a high-performance BOPP film production environment.

The successful development of the project was made possible through close cooperation between IRPLAST, BONFANTI, and the other technology partners involved in the investment.
From engineering and implementation through the different phases of installation and validation, the teams worked together to ensure the correct integration of the automated handling system within the overall production environment.

For BONFANTI, this collaborative approach remains a fundamental element in the development of complex industrial automation projects: technology is most effective when combined with a clear understanding of the customer’s processes, objectives, and long-term development strategy.

The inauguration in Atessa therefore represents not only the completion of an important investment phase, but also the beginning of a new chapter in the relationship between BONFANTI and IRPLAST.
